Raft #2
R = An American Texan
A = Santa Anna
F = Comprehensive Treaty
T = Texas should be independent from Mexican rule because...

 Texas should be independent from Mexican rule because your laws are hurting the common man who follows the law and those who pay their taxes. You refuse to pay your soldiers and therefore they take it out on the common rancher. They steal our food, they steal our horses, they steal everything of value that we own. My compatriots are ready to revolt, your soldiers are debating mutiny while you live in comfort. Though you may not realize what you are doing for the people who live under you, we would like to propose the annexation of Texas. If you do not agree with the terms, you will be faced with good old fashioned Texan fighting.

Mars Creation Myth

Red, the color of passion and power, who could have known that the fourth planet in a solar system that is one of the billions would be the savior of humankind.In the beginning, there was the sun, the stars, and the planets. On one planet there lived a species of humans who were so focused on using up their resources just to make themselves more and more comfortable despite the decaying world they live on. Only a select few of the humans understood that they could not live on a barren planet with a broken atmosphere. After of years, these select humans pondered the idea of life on the red planet. These humans brought their idea to their governments. Of course in human nature, the humans made a competition out of this. It didn’t take long for the humans to reach the planet and sit-rep the area. The very first rovers were sent to start transporting water and other essential human needs. It took only a couple of years to get the crew ready to leave to the planet known to them as Mars, the Roman god of war. A team of international lead a group of ordinary citizens to the resource-rich planet. The voyage was long, difficult and it was almost certain to the passengers that some if not all of them would not make it. Despite their impending doom, the passengers knew that it would benefit their chances of their species surviving through their expectations. It was their spirit as humans to see past their own lives to see the greater good. To some, the crew’s idea of a greater good looked skewed. To other, this was the only way to survive. When the crew of the ship first looked at the blood-red planet they saw a barren landscape, nothing but some rocks and some craters. The planet was full of iron rich soil and fragments of meteorites. Nothing on the planet would be able to support the humans without help from their home. The crew began to create a checkpoint and base from the parts that were left by the rovers. By the time the ship reached Mars, most of the passengers had died from complications with zero gravity's effect on the human body. There were only about five passengers left out of the ten and three out of the five crew left. Despite their small size, what was left of the crew and the passengers were the first to live on Mars. Living proof that it is possible. This is the story of the first settlers on our home planet now known as Marum.
