When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for me to dissolve the bands which have connected me with homework, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that I should declare the causes which impel me to the separation. It is the stress that drags me to the quasi-hell that comes with homework. Why should I waste my time doing busy work while I can use my time studying for a quiz or spend time doing extracurricular activities? I believe that homework should only be assigned if a student is struggling to understand a subject or for a punishment. I believe homework is a waste of time in relation to school. Especially in the critical times of the transition from middle school to high school. What about those of us that are applying to other schools or those who are struggling to figure out where they want to go? Homework is busy work and a complete waste of time.
Thank you guys for reading that, Alldredge assigned us a prompt that asks us what would we declare independence from.

I am from the angry days,
from the long days at a useless
school and hours of homework
that discouraged me to keep going.
I am from the two-story piece of crap
shack in which I spend my days
From days of just binge watching basketball
I am from the tall trees and low bushes
surrounding the reservation, the mossy,
murky waters of turtle lake
I am from the heavy drinking and the
subtle homophobia forged deep within me,
and from my father and my mother, obviously
I am from the drinking to remember and the drinking to forget.
I am from just a small belief in a God. From the
hope that he had a plan for me. Or at least a part of someone else’s life
I'm from the Wellpinit Reservation, from the same old
house a mile away from my birthplace.
From the powwow visits, the dances, and my own traditions
Arnold Sr. is a man who has given up, he is not much of a leader but he is a big part of Junior's life.
I am from old textbooks, kraft mac and cheese and empty gas cans .
I am from the small shack in the congregation of poor people
I am from the tall trees, the murky, green lake full of spirits
I am from my father’s nightly trips to the casino and the heavy drinking following it, from Arnold Spirit Sr. and Mary Spirit and Grandmother Spirit
I am from the lazy days in the blistering heat and long days at school.
I am from the subtle prayer before every nervous moment
I'm from the Spokane Indians and the traditional meals
From the awkward silences, the short moments of bravery, and the years of keeping quiet in the corner
I am from the poor reservation in the middle of nowhere
I am from the small town school in a small town
I am a Spokane Indian with too much brain grease.

Junior is Arnold's son, he is a leader because he is the only person on the reservation brave enough to leave the cycle and break through (that's for you Robbie).

Hey, what's up guys, Michael here with another blog assigned by the great and powerful Alldredge? Alldredge has asked the class to compare and contrast Colonial life versus my very own. Back in the day, kids were taught in either small, expensive, private schools or individually tutored. Mostly the curriculum consisted of basic arithmetic (if you were lucky) and how to read and write. In some colonies, children were required to be able to read the bible. Once the kids learned this stuff they were sent to work a trade. I have been in a private school my entire life with mostly small classes. I also learned basic arithmetic and learned how to read and write. Once I entered middle school, I started learning algebra (which didn't exist). I also haven't been dedicated to a trade so I guess you can say times have changed. The rights around that time were kind of progressive meaning only landowners can vote except for woman rather than only priests and church going men.Thank you guys for reading this and comment below because Alldredge said so.

Hey, what's up guys, the great and powerful Alldredge has assigned the class with another blog. I identify with many different tribes. One of them is the Santa Barbara Opera. I have been acting in operas for two years now. In addition to acting in operas, I have watched many operas including: Giacomo Puccini's Il Trittico and Rigoletto. In this season I will be joining the ensemble in George Bizet's Carmen in the tenor part. I also identify with the motocross community. I haven't been riding motorcycles for long but it has become a big part of my life as a stress reliever and overall fun. Lastly, I belong to the skateboarder community. I have been skateboarding as long as I can remember. One of my first memories is falling while trying to learn in the backyard of my old house. Hope you guys enjoyed and be sure to post anything as stupid as you want.
