Bill of Rights on Mars

The Great and Powerful Alldredge has assigned the class to write a bill of rights for a colony on Mars.

1. The right to oxygen and other necessary needs for life (water, food, etc.)
2. The right to worship your own god
3. The right to an elected leadership position
4. The right to bear arms
5. The right to an education
6. The right to a fair trial
7. The right to a living space
8. The right to question a criminal charge such as excessive fines and charges
9. The right to defend yourself in a court of law
10. The right to a jury of your own peers
11. The right to raise your family in your own image
12. Lastly, every man is equal and shall not be discriminated due to their skin color, ethnicity or gender. 

I think the right to basic human needs such as o2, water and food should be necessary because the colony would not function without these necessities. Every person has the right to worship their own god. I think this is an important right because in desperate situations some people need something to rely on be it natural or supernatural. I think that every person should be able to apply to an elected leadership position because I think every person has a potential to do something great. Every person should be able to defend themselves from whatever is out their. Therefore I think we should be able to bear arms. I think when we start to colonize we should be able to get an education in any form. I think that every person has the right to a fair trial in a court of law because crimes will happen . I think every man should have the to a place to live. I think another important right is the right to question an excessive and cruel criminal charge.  Related to the last one is the right to defend yourself in a court. Finally in the law section is the right to be judged under a jury of your peers. Second to last is the right to parent your child under your own image. Lastly, is no one can discriminate against another person based solely on their skin color, ethnicity or gender. We are all brothers and sisters under Mars.
